The /b/ Serial Killer There was a recent post over on 4chan in the /b/ section from a man claiming to have killed several women for pleasure. He went on to post a photo of a dead woman, along with several other pictures. They were taken close up in ways that suggest that they were not taken by the police but rather the killer himself. Users eventually were able to figure out that the woman in one of the photos was Shawna Maynard, a woman whose dead body had been found with multiple gunshot wounds. Her killer has never been caught.

I remember seeing some screen caps of what I assume is the original thread for this a while back. Seeing as //b/ was the source I was creeper out, but figured it was just some elaborate hoax or the like. Is there something to this? I mean is the only possible source of those images the killer? Is the ID of the Maynard woman positive? What did the FBI do to follow up?
As far as I know, this is a pretty recent thing and, although the FBI has apparently been contacted, I don't really know anymore than that. The alleged killer posted a follow up a few days ago with more pictures. I've linked a youtube vid about the update. There's more out there, but I've found these videos kind of sum it up nicely.
Personally I think there's something to it. I was skeptical at first, but the pictures are obviously real. If they're fake, then that's the most realistic fake body I've ever seen. It's anyone's guess as to whether or not it's an actual post from the killer. It's a good possibility. I'm surprised this hasn't happened sooner to tell you the truth.
If he's telling the truth, he's either developing them himself at home or he works at a 1 hour photo type of place. The one I saw was from about a year ago. Same sort of thing though.
Someone claiming to have killed at least one woman, posted pictures of a corpse with no indications it was a crime scene. In this case the woman was recently deceased, no face picture, but there was quite a bit of blood and iirc her hand had been mutilated. Sounds like it isn't related.
No - rather the opposite. The dead woman seen alongside Shauna's grad pic (you can see them in which is obviously NSFW/L) is definitely not Shauna, due to the circumstances of Shauna's death as reported. (Shauna was found dead in the street less than an hour after being seen alive in the same place, had been shot, and was wearing completely different clothes to the dead girl shown lying on a sheet in OP's photo). He said he took some photos with a disposable camera. What photo store would develop these without calling the cops? Her name was amber, and the guy was an ex.
He was nuts, she was wonderful. She paid for my bus fair a few times. Loosely followed this, and I personally think the guy got access to some evidence folders and is leaking them. When one of the girls was supposedly identified, it turned out the murder didn't make sense.
The pictures show he had the body at his house, but in reality the girl was shot on the street and people heard the gunfire. Plus, the whole photo development thing seems a bit rediculous.
Original original poster, i.e. The self-described killer rather than the OP of this thread. Is there something to this? I personally suspect it is a hoax (i.e. The photos are of genuine murder victims but are taken from crime scene photos) but something in the latest post by the OP makes me wonder - not necessarily that the OOP is the killer, but that the photos he posted were taken by a killer.
Is the ID of the Maynard woman positive? The OOP on /b/ posted a graduation photo which was later matched up with Shauna Maynard's page on the local PD website. However the photo he posted was a high-quality, uncropped image so that website was not his source. What did the FBI do to follow up? AFAIK, nothing.
