Hello, I have a question about duplicating a label on a printer with usb connected barcode scanner. Our customer is about to buy a Intermec printer with a USB 2d barcode scanner which will be directly connected to the printer. They want to scan in existing PDF 417 barcodes (as shown in the attachment), and print out the same barcode (and also the text above the barcode). This text is placed inside the existing barcode. So the printer should get the task to print out the information inside the PDF417 barcode and duplicate the barcode itself on the label Is there any existing script available for this? Or is this easy to create? Thanks, Wesley.

I was experimenting with the barcode objects in the library in LC ES2 (9.0.0, Windows 7) and it looks like they turn manually entered data into barcodes. Is the reverse function available? To put it more specifically, what I'd like is to be able to scan a barcode label and then have the numbers the barcode represents appear in a field, without the barcode image. Can this be done in Designer, or do I need an extra piece of software/module to do this? Is there any significance in last letter of LTO3 tape barcode?I am using XxxxxL3 barcode and Networker takes the tape without any issues. One of our clients got a new series of labels Xxxxx (No L3) and Networker is unable to label that using barcode.nsrjb -L -b TTC1A4WK -S5nsrjb: Jukebox error: Sat 12:42:21 PM nsrjb: labeling: 'match barcode labels' is set to 'Yes' and slot `5' has no barcode labelBut ML6000 is reading the label and shows in web console. If they try to label xxxxxL3 it works fine (e.g.: 000011L3 which came with the box).

Is there any significance in last letter of LTO3 tape barcode?Yes. The 7th and 8th character describes the type of the media. The 7th character describes media format like L for LTO or D DLT and S for SDLT. The 8th character describes the version of media format. Also, this is not something that NetWorker has any control about.

NetWorker purely reads what the jukebox sends it. If you were about the mix L3 and labels without mark you could have set at library setup not to show 7th and 8th character (if library has such option - some do). Customer should get L3 labels now. Usually this is not big issue if library supports it to have it mixed and you will see NW using it too. When you do nsrjb -HvE what does nsrjb output shows for those tapes? If nothing what does sjirdtag show? AnilY, You don't want to convert your pdf to tif format, but you want to read the barcode from same the pdf.

I think, barcode detection work only on images in Captiva. Bharani's point is valid, you can convert your pdf into an image, then you can extract barcode. And can easily export the same pdf with recognized value from converted image. Means you can use your same pdf to export in same process with recognized barcode value. If you don't want to convert your pdf to an image then I suggest, you better think out of Captiva scope and search for barcode recognization code from a pdf file and export pdf to destination location from your code itself.
