• Hi, i'm new here. First of all, i'd like to say that English isn't my native language, so please excuse me for any poor language, misspellings or grammatical errors. I have a problem, and i hope it's the right place to post it.
I recently purchased a Lenovo laptop with an OEM Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64Bit. I bought this computer from the US, so naturally it has English interface Windows. As you may know, for unknown, unjustified, stupid reasons, Microsoft does'nt supply Language packs for NON Ultimate/Enterprise versions of Windows 7, and since i bought this computer as a gift for my father, and he's having really hard time using it with English interface Windows, i used Vistalizator's latest version, and the Hebrew MUI languege pack offered at their website (run 'Vistalizator' in Google, it can't post links), in order to change the display language to my native language. Vistalizator has two installation modes, Internal - 'uses the internal Windows language installer', and Express mode - 'a 'quick and dirty' approach to install new languages.' At first, i tried to use the internal installation of course, but unfortunatly, i got an error saying: ' Sorry, the internal installation failed! As this is an experimental feature, success is not garanteed.
You can always use Express installation mode instead.' So i tried the express installation mode instead. The MUI was installed, i restarted my computer, and indid, the interface changed to Hebrew, but ever since i installed the MUI, every once in a while, i get a massage that my windows isn't genuine. So i looked it up and found a link from microsoft's support site saying that 'Multilingual User Interface (MUI) packs are supported on, licensed for, and available for Windows 7 Ultimate and Windows 7 Enterprise editions. If these language files are present on another edition of Windows 7, Genuine Windows technologies will detect tampering on the system and then display the 'This copy of Windows is not genuine' warning message.' I had no choice but to revert the changes and remove the Hebrew MUI in order to use Windows properly.
Is there any way to resolve this situation? I pretty much looked everywhere for an answer and could'nt find one, i even tried to report to Vistalizator's developers through email but got no response. I would very much appreciate any help, thanks in advanced and best regards. Thanks for your response.
Vistalizator is a portable.exe, so no uninstallation needed, i just had to remove the Hebrew MUI (as i did). As for the activation status - i'm pretty sure it didn't change at system properties page - it was activated all along, i just won't pass validation checks (at microsoft.com/genuine/validate, for example), and this massage ('This copy of Windows is not genuine.' Etc) keeps coming every once in a while.
Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 2 Soundtrack Download Free there. Everything is back to normal when i remove the Hebrew MUI. What are the alternatives for Vistalizator? Thanks again, appreciate it.
Lcdth, doesn't that mean i'll still be overriding the MUI limit and thus be recognized as non-genuine? Tito, sorry for my ignorance, but i couldn't understand what SLIC 2.1 is. I dont have Windows 7 Ultimate, and i don't think i should pay additional money to get the laptop display my native language. This is utterly outrageous Microsoft doesn't supply language packs for all versions just to make me spend more money on new opertaing system, after already paying for one.
Thank you both for your help! Edit i just found this link: mydigitallife.net/windows-7-validated-as-non-genuine-on-unsupported-editions-with-mui-language-pack-installed (funny i didn't come across it earlier) it seems like there's nothing much i can do. Sorry for replying to such an old topic but I have exactly the same problem. Have an eMachines laptop with an OEM Home Premium, and when I tried to upgrade to ultimate for language purposes it wouldn't accept the Acer OEM key, but at the reboot it upgraded to Ultimate anyway. Too bad that it isn't activated now, even though the Home Premium was. So I got this trial thing that's gonna expire in three days. What can I do?
I don't want to use the loader because the loader itself says I got the Acer certificate and SLIC so it should work. It did upgrade to Ultimate with the same key, why isn't it genuine now?
